CINCINNATI (WCPO) — The man accused of claiming to be a missing child has been sent to an institution for evaluation.

According to our news partners at WCPO, Brian Rini, 23, will be institutionalized to determine whether he is competent to stand trial.

Rini was arrested after claiming to be Timmothy Pitzen, an Illinois boy who has been missing since 2011, after he was found wandering the streets of Newport, Kentucky, in early April.

He’s charged with two counts of making false statements and one count of aggravated identity theft.

He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
