LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– A judge has ruled that Imam Mahmoud Shalash and two other men will remain in jail while they wait to be tried on murder-for-hire charges.

Shalash, “John” Sadiqullah, and Abdul Hadi were charged and arrested last week.

They are accused of trying to pay $10,000 to have another man killed over a business dispute.

However, they were charged because they allegedly discussed the matter with an undercover informant.

All three appeared in US District Court in Lexington on Tuesday, where they argued to be released from jail while they await the resolution of their case.

However, US Magistrate Judge Matthew Stinnett ruled that there were no possible conditions of release that would guarantee that the men would show up for court and that they would not be a danger to the public.
