MARSHALL COUNTY, Ky. (WPSD) – The trial for the accused Marshall County High School shooter will be moved to Christian County, WPSD reports.

Lawyers for Gabriel Parker had previously requested the trial be moved to assure his right to an unbiased jury.

A judge and both sides agreed to move the trial out of Marshall County on Friday. Parker is facing two counts of murder and 14 counts of first-degree assault for the January 2018 shooting which claimed the lives of two Marshall Co. High School students.

Commonwealth Attorney Dennis Foust responded to their request, saying if they were to move it, he would prefer Christian County.

The trial is set to start on June 1, 2020 in Christian County.

Pre-trial motions will continue to meet in Marshall County.
