LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — A man who Lexington police say fatally shot another man earlier this month at north side apartment complex is expected in court Wednesday morning for a preliminary hearing.
Authorities say 25-year-old DeMarcus Jones is charged in the April 13 fatal shooting of 24-year-old Aaron Coney.
Officials said the shooting occurred at the Coolavin Apartments on West Sixth Street.
Authorities say Coney was shot in the upper body. He was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police arrested Jones days later during a traffic stop at the Tates Creek Centre.
Jones was charged with murder and has been held in the Fayette County Detention Center.
