KNOX COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– Kentucky State Police searched a Knox County elementary school Monday evening after an inmate at the local jail told jail employees that he had put a bomb there.

It happened just after six at G.R. Hampton Elementary School.

Authorities searched the school grounds, but nothing was found, and the all-clear was given around 8 p.m.

Officials say two school resource officers will be at G.R. Hampton Tuesday morning to ensure a safe learning environment for students and staff.
