Education Secretary DeVos To Visit Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) -US Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos will attend two events with Governor Bevin on Wednesday, April 17.

Secretary DeVos and Governor Bevin will host a roundtable discussion with families, educators, stakeholders and local elected leaders on school choice efforts in Kentucky and how Education Freedom Scholarships could help expand education options in the state.

This event will be held in the Classroom Building at the Bluegrass Community & Technical College Newtown Campus in Lexington. The roundtable is expected to start at 11 a.m.

From there, Secretary DeVos and Governor Bevin will travel to Benton, Kentucky, to announce an additional Project School Emergency Response to Violence (SERV) grant for the Marshall County School District to assist in their ongoing recovery efforts following the Jan. 23, 2018, shooting at Marshall County High School.
