UK Police: Threat Involving Classroom Building Not Credible

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– University of Kentucky Police say that a social media threat involving the White Hall classroom building is not credible.

UK Police say that they were informed of the threat Monday morning, but that it does not represent a safety concern. They have identified the person who made the threat. Officials say that person is not a UK student.

As a precaution, UK police will have extra officers in the classroom building Tuesday.

Early this morning, the UK Police Department received information from a social media post that contained a threat involving the White Hall Classroom Building.

After investigation, UK Police have determined that the threat is not credible and does not represent a safety concern. In fact, UK Police have identified the individual responsible for this action and are in the process of investigating and resolving the issue. The individual is not a UK student.

Events and classes in White Hall will proceed as normal. We will keep you informed about any additional developments. Out of an abundance of caution, UK Police will have extra officers in the classroom building.
