LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– Friday is the much-anticipated autograph session for the new Maker’s Mark bottle celebrating Coach Calipari’s 2012 UK Championship team at Keeneland.

However, Cal tweeted Thursday night that he will not make it back in town in time.

He reportedly ran into plane issues and couldn’t get out of Chicago in time.

To make up for it, he said he will make sure a separate event is set up to “make sure I personally sign every bottle for those who have a ticket.”

He said six of the championship team players will still be at Keeneland for the 7 a.m. signing along with the 2012 National Championship trophy.

In his latest tweet, he said “I wish I could be there but we will turn this into two special events.”

Every person attending the event must have previously reserved a ticket after picking up the Maker’s Mark limited-edition UK Championship bottle.

All the proceeds for the bottles go to a UK academic tutoring center for student athletes.
