City Hosts Event For Free Disposal Of Household Hazardous Wastes

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– The City of Lexington is hosting a household hazardous wastes (HHW) disposal event Saturday.

From 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., residents can drop off their items at 1631 Old Frankfort Pike (enter the site via Jimmie Campbell Drive).

The following items can be dropped off:

  • Acids
  • Adhesives (floor, tile, etc)
  • Aerosol cans
  • Alcohols
  • Algaecides/fungicides
  • Ammonia
  • Antifreeze
  • Ballast PBCs
  • Batteries (auto, boat, etc)
  • Carburetor cleaner
  • Caulking
  • Cooking oil/grease
  • Chlorine
  • Cleaners (engine, carpet, drain, etc)
  • Cylinders (propane, helium)
  • Degreasers
  • Diesel fuel
  • Disinfectants
  • Dyes
  • Electronics (see lexingtonky.gov/ecycle)
  • Fertilizers
  • Fire extinguishers
  • Floor waxes
  • Fuel oil
  • Furniture strippers
  • Gas and diesel additives
  • Gasoline (old)
  • Herbicides/weed killers
  • Insecticides
