LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) – The sorrows of True Blue fans could be felt on State Street in Lexington.
The road is famous for recent UK celebrations, but no such chaos on Sunday afternoon
Although fans weren’t prepared for this heartbreaking loss to Auburn, Lexington police were ready to handle anything.
They lined the roads around State Street knowing that if the Cats had made it to the Final Four, hundreds of fans would converge.
Instead, sorrow and disbelief filled the air
“It’s a big disappointment. It’s a big upset none of us were expecting this, not happy about it,” said Hannah Zugel.
So the couches were saved from burning this season, but students says they will be back next March.
