FEMA To Assess Flood Damage In McCracken County

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (WPSD)– FEMA representatives will visit McCracken County on Tuesday to assess damage from the recent flooding.

In the last two weeks of February the City of Murray got more than 15 inches of rain. Paducah has more than 10 inches.

Paducah-McCracken County Emergency Management Director, Jerome Mansfield, says to prepare for the flooding, the city and the county had a joint operation producing more than 23,000 sandbags and installing floodgates.

FEMA is visiting other parts of the state as well to assess flooding damage.
