FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18/State Journal)– A Frankfort man charged in connection to a 2017 stabbing has now been sentenced to 11 years in prison, according to The State Journal.

John Brandon Lamotte was arrested after police found Mary Sanders suffering from several stab wounds.

The paper reports Lamotte was convicted of first-degree assault just over a month ago.

Following his trial, it’s reported that the jury recommended 11 years in prison and the judge agreed. Family members have reached out to LEX 18 on multiple occasions stating that they feel Lamotte was wrongly convicted.
