HARDIN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– A fire official in Hardin County says we may never know what started a fire that destroyed a motel.

According to The News-Enterprise, the fire started just after noon Tuesday at the Kentucky Cardinal Inn located in Elizabethtown.

Deputy Fire Chief Everett Roberts says the cause of the fire is undetermined because the building is unstable for a proper investigation.

No one was hurt, but 30 long term residents had to relocate.
