BELL COUNTY, Ky. (WRIL)– A death investigation is underway in Bell County after an alleged intruder died from a gunshot wound.
The incident happened late Thursday night on Bradfordtown Right Road in Pineville.
According to WRIL, a woman called dispatch saying she could hear a disturbance at her neighbor’s house. As officials responded, the woman called back saying she heard gunshots.
After arriving on scene, the homeowners told police that someone had attacked them.
Further investigation revealed that a friend had come to the home, but was later told to leave, according to WRIL. Police say the friend attempted to get back into the house, and that’s when he was shot by the one of the homeowners.
The victim, later identified as 27-year-old Jeffery Dwayne Fuston, was flown to the hospital, but reportedly went into full cardiac arrest on the way.
