ANDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Kentucky State Police say an Anderson County woman repeatedly solicited the murder of her husband, who was shot in the face earlier this week.

Amanda Rogers

Authorities arrested 36-year-old Amanda Rogers and 28-year-old Jason Patrick Downs, both of Lawrenceburg.

According to her arrest citation, police say Rogers discussed killing her husband “on multiple occasions.”

On Wednesday, police responded to a reported assault at a home along Alton Station Road found Christopher Rogers with a gunshot wound to his face.

He was taken to the University of Kentucky Medical Center, but officials did not release his condition.

Jason Patrick Downs

Investigators say a neighbor told them he saw two men fleeing the area after the shooting in a van.

Police said they determined Downs was the driver. Officials said they recovered a 9mm round and spent shell casing at the scene of the shooting.

Amanda Rogers was charged with solicitation of murder, and Downs was charged with first-degree assault.

Both were being held in the Shelby County Detention Center.
