NWS Confirms 2 Tornadoes In Thursday’s Storm Systems

(LEX 18) – The National Weather Service in Paducah has confirmed two tornadoes touched down in Kentucky during Thursday’s severe storms.

The first reported tornado touchdown was the EF-2 that struck Carlisle and McCracken Counties. It reached wind speeds of 125 MPH. The tornado was on the ground for 16 minutes and traveled 16.7 miles.

One injury was reported in that storm.

The second tornado touched down in Union County. Viewer video captured shows the tornado on the ground. The survey is ongoing so more specific information was not immediately available.
