FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18)– Kentuckians will gather at the state Capitol on Wednesday to call for the restoration of voting rights for people with felonies.
27 organizations are co-sponsoring the event, and dozens of people with felonies on their records will share their stories.
Their goal is to change the state’s constitution to restore voting rights to felons once they have served their time.
The rally will focus on what executive action Governor Matt Bevin can take.
Data shows there are currently 312,000 disenfranchised Kentucky voters.
The rally starts at 2 p.m.
