KNOX COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– It has been nearly two months since a man was shot and killed at a gas station on US 25 E.

Gary Medlin was shot at a Quick Stop near Corbin. His wife, Mindy, says that life has become a one day at a time task.

Despite having to relive everything over and over in court, Gary’s wife and mother continue coming to court to seek justice for him.

Phillip Lee Lewis had his case waived to the Grand Jury, so it will be up to them to indict.

Mindy and Gary’s mother, Brandy Frechette, feel confident the justice they seek will be served.

“Evidence don’t lie! There’s too much to prove that he was there that night,” said Frechette.  “The evidence they have can’t be anybody else but him. Nobody framed him.”

The surveillance tape is important in the case. Earlier this month, Lee told LEX 18 that he was never before in Kentucky. A Grand Jury will decide if he is telling the truth.

Mindy told LEX 18 that this weekend, they will celebrate Gary’s birthday without him. His youngest son also has a birthday coming up. Mindy said he is about to turn three.
