(LEX 18)– The winter storm of 1993 plagued Kentucky with 6-30 inches of snow and 6-10 feet of snow drifts.

The snow shut down I-75 from Lexington to the Tennessee border. I-64 was also closed for two days from Lexington to the West Virginia border. The storm came during the SEC Tournament, an event basketball fans just couldn’t miss.

Many basketball fans were brought together on the side of the road.

“Yeah, we got beat by Kentucky last night but we still don’t mind pulling people out of ditches,” Tennessee fan Tony Bryant told an LEX 18 reporter.
