LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Police say a Williamsburg man was arrested Tuesday morning after he allegedly held a knife to the neck of a Walmart worker and threatened to kill everyone in the store.

Brad M. Lovitt

Authorities say 23-year-old Brad M. Lovitt is facing multiple charges after the incident.

Laurel County Sheriff John Root’s office said deputies and officers with the Willamsburg Police Department were called out just before 6 a.m. to reports of a fight inside Walmart in southern Laurel County.

Police said Lovitt confronted a female employee with whom he shares a child when a manager tried to have him removed.

Lovitt allegedly assaulted the manager. When a customer attempted to help, Lovitt is accused of pulling out a knife and holding to the worker’s neck and “stating he would kill everyone in there,” officials said.

He then fled the scene but was arrested a short time later.

Lovitt is charged with three counts of third-degree terroristic threatening. fourth-degree assault, first-degree wanton endangerment, and second-degree assault.

Lovitt was being held in the Laurel County Detention Center.
