Water Level Drops, Damage Starts To Become Visible at Wolf Creek Dam

RUSSELL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – Historic water levels at the Wolf Creek Dam still have parts of the area under water. The good news is that the water levels are dropping.

The water is still pounding over the Wolf Creek Dam, creating violent water conditions at historic levels. Still, it’s an actual improvement from the last few weeks.

Last week, the amount of water coming over the dam made it dangerous to even be near the area. Employees at Captain Jack’s Snack Shack, a local food stop right by the dam, were only allowed back to work a few days ago.

Fisherman will also have to wait before they can get back in the water because the boat ramps in the area are gone.

Until water levels return to normal, no repairs can be made.
