LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE 3)– Three gas station clerks in Louisville have been arrested for allegedly trying to pocket winning lottery tickets.
During an undercover investigation by the Kentucky Lottery, retailers were given four to five tickets–one worth $18,000.
Investigators claimed they didn’t know if there were any winners in the pile.
Out of 60 visits to stores, three employees allegedly stole the winning ticket, and tried to cash it.
All three suspects are set to be arraigned Monday on fraud charges.
Similar investigations in 2011 and 2015 led to multiple felony indictments in Louisville and Lexington.
