LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Police in Lexington were investigating after a shooting early Saturday sent one person to the hospital.
Authorities said the first calls came in shortly after 2 a.m. reporting the sound of gunfire near the Whitaker Bank Ballpark on the city’s north side.
Police officers working in the area also heard the shots.
When police arrived at the scene, they found a pool of blood, shell casings and damage to three vehicles — but no gunman or victim.
A few minutes later, residents on Ward Drive called to report that man with gunshot wound was lying in their driveway.
The man was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.
Police said they did not have a suspect but were continuing to investigate the case.
