GUTHRIE, Ky. (WHOP) – A child was killed after being mauled by a family dog Thursday night in Guthrie.
According to WHOP, it happened at a home on North Ewing Street. Guthrie Police say the one-year-old had been playing with a ball on the floor when the dog came in from outdoors.
Officials say the dog attacked the child, causing lacerations to the head and chest and a broken jaw.
The child was transported to a Clarksville, Tenn. hospital where he passed away.
The dog was turned over to Animal Control Officers.
