SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– A man is dead following an accident at the Toyota plant in Georgetown.
It happened around 4 a.m. Tuesday close to gate 21.
The Scott County Coroner says the victim was crushed after getting pinned between a truck and trailer.
He will be transported to Frankfort for an autopsy later in the morning.
Toyota released the following statement:
Early Tuesday morning, a serious accident occurred at Toyota’s Manufacturing plant in Kentucky resulting in the death of an employee with Ryder, one of Toyota’s carriers. The incident took place outside the plant near one of the company’s docks. Production was halted at the plant while we continue to work closely with officials to gather more information. All of us at Toyota extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the Ryder employee.
