MAGOFFIN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Police have charged a Magoffin County man with the attempted rape of a disabled woman.
The sheriff’s office says that US Care Net called their client, Harvey George Puckett, 80. According to the arrest warrant, Puckett never hung up the phone and the employee heard a conversation during which the suspect was attempting to sexually assault the victim.
The employee called law enforcement. When deputies arrived, they only found Puckett and the woman. Investigators listened to the 42-minute recording and later charged Puckett with abuse/neglect and second-degree attempted rape.
In court, he pleaded not guilty to both charges. A family friend spoke to LEX 18 and say the whole thing is a huge misunderstanding.
