LPD Officer Bit By Dog During Traffic Stop

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– An officer with the Lexington Police Department is recovering after getting bit by a dog.

It happened around 1:30 a.m. Friday near the intersection of East Maxwell Street at South Martin Luther King Boulevard.

Police say officers were conducting a traffic stop when a pit bull from the driver’s vehicle bit the officer.

We’re told the officer’s injury is minor.

Animal control responded to the scene.

It’s unclear what led to the traffic stop, or what will happen to the dog.
