LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) – A man has been taken to the hospital after what police believe was a robbery attempt at a Lexington auto store.
Police were called to the O’Reilly’s Auto on New Circle Road after employees say a man attempted to rob them while wielding a hammer.
Police also say when employees approached him, he pulled out a hammer that was concealed in his pants and threatened them. That’s when he ran out of the store. @LEX18News pic.twitter.com/oxyeBS3ftW

Officers say the man appeared to be under the influence of something, so as a precaution he is being transported to the hospital.
