LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Lexington homeowner has been charged after police say she fired a shot within city limits.
It happened a little before 6 a.m. Tuesday in the 4000 block of Weber Way in southwest Lexington.
Police say Donna Chowning told them she saw someone breaking into a truck. That’s when she grabbed a gun and fired a shot into the air.
She’s been charged with first-degree wanton endangerment because that is a violation of a city ordinance for safety reasons.
The suspect ran away.
