LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) – State road crews have been busy pre-treating bridges, overpasses and portions of routes today in multiple central Kentucky counties.
Road crews have been pre-treating roads with salt brine.
Salt brine assists with melting and preventing ice from forming on road surfaces.
The National Weather Service is forecasting snow showers overnight Friday with accumulation through Saturday evening. Motorists should always use extra caution when driving in cold and wet weather. Bridges and overpasses typically freeze before surface-level roadways.
