FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18/Cincinati Enquirer) –  In a closed-door meeting, Governor Matt Bevin announced that he would file paperwork to run for re-election before the deadline.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that Bevin announced that he would file for re-election by the January 29 deadline. He also told reporters that he is still undecided on his running mate.

“All of this will come out in the days ahead,” said Bevin.

In the meantime, reporters from WAVE 3 News, the Courier-Journal, the Herald-Leader, WUKY and the Associated Press were prohibited from entering the room. The media roundtable was invitation only.

Bevin explained to reporters in the room that the presser was for publications who aren’t at the capitol every day.
