MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– A man was taken into custody Saturday after police say he fired a gun in a grocery store parking lot.
Officers were called to the Berea Walmart in reference to a gunshot. The subject who fired the shot, 37-year-old William Hayes, was located and detained.
An investigation revealed that he allegedly fired the shot to break up a fight that his juvenile son was involved in.
The shot was fired up in the air where there were several people around.
Hayes is charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, disorderly conduct, menacing, and carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
