LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) – Krispy Kreme may have been the ones who lost a truck full of donuts, but Lexington police made it clear that they felt the loss tremendously.
The story started on New Year’s Eve. A Krispy Kreme truck went up in flames on Man o’War at Pink Pigeon Parkway.
The driver was not injured in the crash, but sadly all the donuts were torched. Lexington PD tweeted their officers’ reactions to the carnage.

Krispy Kreme noticed the post, which has gone viral worldwide, and offered to make the officers smile again.
“We’re thinking of you during this difficult time … and have more doughnuts on the way!” tweeted the donut giant.
They made good on their promise and on Wednesday, they delivered the goods. The truck received a police escort to central roll call where officers were waiting. One of them even hugged the donuts.
