LOUISVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18)- A Louisville councilman is expressing thanks to the Kentucky State Police for their help during a city’s tragedy.
According to a post by Councilman David James, KSP’s Commissioner Rick Sanders sent troopers to work at Louisville Metro Police Department’s Second Division so that officers could attend the visitation for fallen officer Detective Deidre Mengedoht.

Mengedoht was killed during a traffic stop on Christmas Eve on I-64.
Her funeral was held in Louisville Monday morning.
