NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) — Two fire departments were called out early Sunday morning to a restaurant fire in Nicholasville, and one of the owners was arrested after allegedly becoming disorderly.

Officials say the blaze started about 1 a.m. at Los Dos Amigos, 107 Edgewood Plaza Drive.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the fire, which was contained to the restaurant’s bathroom. Officials said the business suffered only moderate smoke damage.

One of the owners tried to put the fire out himself, and officials say he was largely successful.

However, when crews arrived on the scene, authorities say, the man became belligerent.

“He became a little disgruntled by being removed by fire and police crews upon our arrival,” said Nicholasville Fire Battalion Chief Johnny Adams. “He had been taken into custody, but I do not know what his status is at this time.”

Officials later said that 53-year-old Rodriguez Angulo was charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

Jessamine County jail officials tell LEX 18 that Angulo was yelling about police and refused to give his name when he was being processed.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
