LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) – A young girl who was best known as her father’s inspiration for magnificent Halloween costumes has died.
Haleigh Gayheart was born with a subarachnoid cyst and was confined to a wheelchair. LEX 18 brought Gayheart’s story to you after her father worked hard to make sure she had a magical Halloween each year. Ralph “Poke” Gayheart created custom costumes each year that gave Haleigh the chance to be normal and for people to look at her in awe.
This Halloween, Haleigh was Alice In Wonderland.
“Her initial time frame was 10 years of age. She’s now 12,” said Ralph. “Unless it wasn’t for the good Lord and her mama, she wouldn’t be here right now.”
