CARTER COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– A woman is dead and a man is in critical condition after an apparent murder-suicide attempt in Carter County.
It happened on Christmas Eve, though it’s unclear at what time, in the Hitchins community.
Officials say Rebecca Lancaster’s boyfriend shot her in the head and then later turned the gun on himself.
We’re told Lancaster was pronounced dead at the scene, and the suspect was airlifted to a local hospital.
Officials say he is on life support.
