(LEX 18) – The dog who was left for dead in a frozen creek has settled comfortably into her new home.
Chapel was placed in a plastic bag and was thrown into a creek alongside Highway 32 near Sadieville. Two good samaritans saw the puppy trying to break free. One of the men jumped into the freezing cold water.
The dog is a merle who is both deaf and blind. Officials with the Scott County Animal Shelter paired up with a rescue organization out of Ohio called “Speak for the Unspoken.”
She is currently in foster care as rescuers work to assess her medical needs. They posted a video of her in her new home. She seems to be adjusting nicely.
The organization is raising funds for her care and the care of other animals just like her.
