Contract Worker At LG&E Plant Dies On Job

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE 3)– A contractor working at the LG&E plant in Trimble County died while cleaning a piece a equipment.

The man, identified as 24-year-old Jordan R. Doyle, of Maysville, died Nov. 12.

Kentucky State Police said Doyle was inside a piece of machinery when some sort of incident occurred.

Emergency crews responded and he was pronounced dead around 9:30 p.m.

LG&E said the contractor was cleaning air filters.

OSHA has started an investigation into Doyle’s death.

KSP said they do not believe any foul play was involved, and are calling it a workplace accident.

LG&E offered the following statement:

“We are not at liberty to discuss the details of that incident, as the matter is still under investigation. However, we take our commitment to safety for our employees and contract partners seriously, and we are working with the contractor and state authorities to ensure that a full investigation is conducted. We are deeply saddened by this incident, and offer our most since condolences to all friends and family members touched by this tragedy.”
