BATH COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– An abandoned church is a total loss after a structure fire late Thursday night.
It happened around 8:45 p.m. at the Salt Lick Methodist Church.
Officials say the church was built in 1893, but has been vacant since the 1960s.
According to the local fire chief, the fire is suspicious in nature. They have a few leads on who may be responsible, but aren’t divulging anything else at this time.
A building across the street sustained some minor damage from heat emanating from the church.
