GEORGETOWN, Ky. (LEX 18) – Two men braved icy cold water to rescue a puppy that had been discarded on the side of the road in Scott County.

Scott County Animal Shelter officials say the dog had been placed in the bag and then that bag was stuffed inside another.  Whoever dumped her placed three large rocks in the bag and then dumped it in the creek. The men discovered the wet, freezing pup after she managed to stick her head out of an opening.

When the men spotted her, one waded into the freezing water and rescued her.

Scott County Animal Shelter officials took the dog to the vet. They believe she is both deaf and blind and will need special care.
