Individuals Accused Of Hindering Prosecution Of Alleged Cop Killer Sentenced

PIKEVILLE, Ky. (EKB) – Four people accused of helping hide an accused cop killer have been sentenced for their roles in the crime.

According to East Kentucky Broadcasting,  Amanda Dotson, Jeanne Blackburn, Michael Slone, and Gregory Slone admitted to helping John Russell Hall escape law enforcement after allegedly murdering Pikeville Police Officer Scotty Hamilton in March of 2018.

Dotson, Michael, and Gregory were sentenced to four years in prison for hindering prosecution.  Those three individuals are accused of providing transportation and hiding Hall.

Jeanne Blackburn was sentenced to two years probation.

Alleged shooter John Russell Hall also appeared in court for a pretrial hearing. Hall’s next appearance will be Dec. 19 at 10 a.m.

Coincidentally, Thursday would have been Officer Hamilton’s birthday. He was a husband and the father of a young daughter.
