LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Officials say a man has died of his injuries after being struck by a vehicle early Tuesday morning as he walked along Winchester Road.
The Fayette County Coroner’s Office says James A. Hawkins Jr. was pronounced dead at 6:45 a.m. at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
The cause of death was listed as multiple blunt-force trauma.
Hawkins was struck by vehicle as he walked along Winchester Road near Fortune Drive.
The roadway was closed for a time as a reconstruction crew worked the scene.
There was no word on whether the driver would face any charges in the incident.
