Officials arrested 37-year-old Matthew Smith, who they said pointed a gun at an officer who confronted him in the parking lot of LB Manufacturing on Industry Drive.
Police were able to disarm Smith, who they said had an AR-15 that had been modified to make it fully automatic. He also had handguns and rifles in his truck, authorities said.
Smith is charged with attempted murder, first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, resisting arrest and third-degree criminal trespassing.
Smith was being held in the Marion County Detention Center. He was expected to be arraigned later.
