GEORGETOWN, Ky. (LEX 18)– A photo shoot involving a newborn can be challenging, but one photographer captured the precious moments of seven babies, born to seven troopers within a short period.

The Central Kentucky State Police Baby Boom was captured in a photo by Vicky Puckett or Hueit Photography by Vicky Lea.

“They were all crying at one point, and we had some that were happy the whole time, and some that were just not happy,” said Puckett.

“There was a moment there it was pure chaos, but it’s just seven babies screaming at the top of their lungs,” said Detective Tye Chavies.

Chavies said that once they realized there was a baby boom among Central Kentucky State Police, he and his wife had an idea for troopers and detectives to take pictures with their newborns.

“Really, the logistical nightmare of getting seven brand new babies up in one spot, and getting everybody fed and clothed and getting them good to go,” said Chavies.

The 275 picture session only took two hours and it was a true team effort.

“I was definitely challenged a bit. I mean, my Photoshop skills were definitely put to the test,” said Puckett.

Chavies said that he will treasure the pictures with his son and his brothers in blue.

“It’s kind of an opportunity to humanize the badge a little bit. I didn’t think about it when we took the picture, but it kind of reminds us all the reason we go out every day to work, and definitely the reason why we’re coming home,” he said.

Puckett says she wants to continue showing appreciation for first responders. She will be giving away seven free mini sessions to first responders. You can enter to win here.
