LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– A Lexington organization is stepping up to help thousands of dogs, after a measure was passed in Florida banning Greyhound racing.
Come 2020 more than 5,000 racing Greyhounds will need new homes.
Pam Peyton, the president of Bluegrass Greyhound Adoption, says she’s already working to find families in Kentucky who want to help.
“I like the fact that they are so calm. I can walk three of them at once around my neighborhood without any problems at all. Now we are gearing up to try and find people who want to adopt, people who would like to foster. if they can’t adopt or foster, maybe will donate to help pay for some of the expenses involved.”
If you want to learn about adopting or fostering these Greyhounds, you can contact Pam at Bluegrass Greyhound Adoption. That phone number is (859) 338-6921.
