BELL COUNTY, Ky. (WRIL) – The Bell County Sheriff’s Department and the Kentucky Department of Probation and Parole apprehended a wanted man.

On Friday, authorities found Joey Jarnigan, 36, in the attic of his residence.

Jarnigan was arrested in 2016 for speeding, fleeing or evading police in a motor vehicle and on foot, reckless driving, and two fugitive warrants from another state. He was placed on parole and absconded.

On Nov. 11, Jarnigan was the focus of a pursuit in Claiborne County, Tennessee while he was operating a motorcycle. Tazewell and Claiborne County authorities chased Jarnigan to a residence where he abandoned the motorcycle.

With the help of adjoining counties K-9 units tracking him, they found a marijuana growing operation. Jarnigan had been on the run since that incident.

He is facing charges in Tazewell and also in Grainger County Tennessee and is being held in the Bell County Detention Center without bond on the parole violation.
