LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– A Lexington man is charged with murder after he allegedly shot and killed his older brother.
Police responded to the home on Krissy Way just after 9 a.m. Thursday to a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, they found 28-year-old Jaymes Coffey with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Lexington Police.
The investigation revealed that 26-year-old Timothy Coffey was in a verbal argument with his brother when the shooting took place.
Police report that a witness saw Coffey leave the scene in a vehicle.
Officers located Coffey on Pierson Drive. He was lodged in the Fayette County Detention Center.
