LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) – If your FCPS student shows you a text that claims to be from LEX 18 stating that there will not be school tomorrow due to a bomb threat, that is not true.
Fayette County Public Schools notified LEX 18 about the hoax and sent us a screenshot of it to alert the public. FCPS will be the first to notify parents about threats to safety via their website, a one-call or social media.
LEX 18 does not have the capability to send text messages, only push notifications through our app. The link in the text message is not a working link.
Fayette County Public School Law Enforcement is investigating the source of the original message.
