LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– Women across the Bluegrass will gather in Lexington on Thursday to raise awareness for the number one health threat against women.

The “Go Red for Women Experience” encourages everyone to make a commitment to end heart decease.

This is the 11th year for this event, which features a discovery village and a heart healthy luncheon.

In the discovery village guests can speak with health professionals, get blood and health screenings, learn about healthy recipes, and participate in fitness demos.

The luncheon features wellness coach Deanna Latson as a keynote speaker, and a performance by singer Marlana Vanhoose.

It starts at 8:30 a.m. Thursday in the Lexington Center’s Heritage Hall.

We’re told the first 100 people who visit the anthem table at the event will go home with a free hands only CPR hit.

The event encourages attendees to make a commitment for themselves, their mothers, sisters, daughters, and friends to live longer healthier lives.

Tickets are available at the door for $100 each. For information and tickets, log on to lexingtonGoRed.heart.org or contact Emily.blair@heart.org  859-368-498.
